CS2 sniper rifle skins: what to know before you buy
Counter-Strike has four sniper rifles. The AWP kills with one shot to the head, chest or stomach and is the most expensive gun in the game. The SSG 08, nicknamed the Scout, is a cheap and mobile bolt-action rifle. The SCAR-20 for Counter-Terrorists and the G3SG1 for Terrorists are semi-automatic snipers.
AWP skins dominate the category: the Dragon Lore, Gungnir and Medusa are among the most valuable items in CS2, while the Asiimov, Hyper Beast and Neo-Noir are popular mid-range choices. SSG 08 skins such as the Dragonfire and Blood in the Water offer a cheaper sniper look. Price depends on rarity, float, StatTrak or Souvenir status and stickers.

Frequently asked questions
Why are AWP skins more expensive than other sniper skins?
The AWP is the sniper players buy most, and several of its finishes come from collections that no longer drop, so demand is high and supply is fixed.
Is the SSG 08 worth a skin?
The Scout is bought on eco and force-buy rounds by both teams, and its skins cost far less than AWP skins, which makes it a popular budget choice.
What do the exteriors mean?
Exterior is set by float: Factory New 0.00–0.07, Minimal Wear 0.07–0.15, Field-Tested 0.15–0.38, Well-Worn 0.38–0.45 and Battle-Scarred 0.45–1.00. Scoped weapons show the skin in full, so float is easy to notice.
Can I check the float before buying?
Yes. Listings on WAXPEER show the float value, so you can compare copies and pick the wear you want.
