Strange Parts add an extra counter to a Strange item. A Strange weapon counts kills on its own; a part makes it also track something else, such as headshot kills, kills on a given class, buildings destroyed or airborne enemies killed.
A Strange item can hold up to three attached parts, and the part is used up when applied. Popular parts that track common events are in steady demand, while parts tied to a single class or a rare situation are cheaper. Choose the part for the stat you want to see on your item, not only for its price.

No. Parts work only on Strange items. You can make an item Strange first with a Strangifier, where one exists for it.
