TF2 primary weapons: what to know before you buy
Primary weapons fill the first loadout slot of most Team Fortress 2 classes: the Scout's scatterguns, the Soldier's rocket launchers, the Pyro's flamethrowers, the Heavy's miniguns, the Sniper's rifles and bows, and more. Many are unlocks that change how a class plays, not just how it looks.
Collectors look at the version as much as the weapon. Strange weapons count kills and rank up as the counter grows. Killstreak, Specialized and Professional Killstreak weapons add a streak counter, sheens and, at the top tier, eye effects. Australium weapons are gold-plated Strange versions of a small set of weapons, while Festive and Botkiller variants have their own looks. Decorated weapons carry a War Paint finish with a wear grade.
