Other TF2 items: what to know before you buy
This page gathers the TF2 items that are neither weapons nor cosmetics: Killstreak kits and their Specialized and Professional versions, Strangifiers, chemistry sets and other recipe items, gifts and packages, party favors and PDA or building-slot items.
Many of these items are used on something else. A Killstreak kit is made for one weapon, a Strangifier for one item, and a recipe produces a fixed result. Read the item name and description so you buy the kit, Strangifier or recipe for the item you actually own.

Frequently asked questions
What is a Killstreak kit?
An item that applies a Killstreak tier to one specific weapon. Specialized and Professional kits add a sheen, and Professional kits add eye effects too.
What does a Strangifier do?
It turns one specific item into its Strange version, so it starts counting kills or uses.
Is a kit for one weapon usable on another?
No. Kits, Strangifiers and recipes name their target item. They only work on that item.
