Snoop Dogg Parts Ways with FaZe Clan: A Look Back at the Partnership

The recent news of American rapper Snoop Dogg's departure from the board of directors of FaZe Clan has had the Esports community in stitches. 

According to an SEC filing, Snoop's departure is effective immediately, severing all ties with the North American org. In this article, we take a closer look at Snoop Dogg's short but rather impressive story with FaZe Clan and the circumstances surrounding his departure.

Snoop Dogg first joined the Clan in March 2022 as a content creator and board member. His partnership with the organization came at a crucial time, as FaZe was on the verge of going public. The collaboration appeared to be a win-win for both parties, with Snoop's son, Cordell Broadus, playing a key role in connecting the rapper with FaZe Clan.

Throughout his time with FaZe, Snoop Dogg was actively involved in the organization, taking part in content creation and various outreach programmes. One of the most memorable moments came before his official collaboration, when Snoop proudly wore a FaZe Clan logo necklace during his performance at the Super Bowl HalfTime Show.

However, since Snoop's involvement with FaZe Clan began, the situation has changed drastically. The organization's share price has fallen significantly since it went public in the summer of 2022, and FaZe Clan announced a series of layoffs in early 2022. As the result, the esports organization reported a significant overall loss in its 2022 financial statements.

Snoop Dogg's decision to leave FaZe Clan was not the result of any disagreement with the company, as stated in FaZe Clan's official comment on the matter: "On 29 March 2023, Calvin 'Snoop Dogg' Broadus, Jr. notified FaZe Holdings Inc. that he is resigning from the company's board of directors, effective immediately."

FaZe Clan now faces the challenge of overcoming its financial troubles as NASDAQ threatens to delist the organization's shares unless they stay above $1 for at least 10 consecutive days. With a 180-day deadline set by the stock exchange at the end of March, FaZe Clan's share price is currently hovering around $0.50, leaving the organization in a horrible position.

As the Esports world bids farewell to the partnership between Snoop Dogg and FaZe Clan, the focus now shifts to the future of the organization and its ability to recover from its current financial problems. Snoop Dogg's departure marks the end of an era, but the story of FaZe Clan is not over (at least, for now).
