The enchanters of Metira could never abide human hands in possession of their artifacts. The few thieves who "succeeded" in liberating small baubles from their trove were hunted down and swiftly executed. For a Metiran master to gift a bespoke golden mask to Axia's ward Mirana -- an honor no other outsider had earned -- was a sign of gravest respect indeed.
