BLAST Targets US for 2025 Summer Major
BLAST is aimed to bring the Counter-Strike Major back to North America in 2025, with Austin, Texas rumored to be the host city for the event.
Based on rumors, BLAST is targeting Austin, Texas to host the first Counter-Strike Major of 2025.
This would be the first Major held in North America since the ELEAGUE Major Boston 2018, where Cloud9 have managed to come back from a 0-2 run in the group stage up to winning the whole event, bringing NA it's first and only Major title.
The announcement is expected to be made at the upcoming BLAST Spring Finals scheduled for June 12-16, 2024.
The host of the tournament has made an announcement that during the upcoming event in London, they will unveil certain undisclosed details. This will include the structure and venues for the 2025 tournaments, along with "something more".
If this information is confirmed, this would be the biggest event for the North American Counter-Strike scene in terms of the prize pool, which is expected to be $1.250.000.
BLAST has previously hosted Counter-Strike Majors, including the CS:GO's last one, BLAST Paris Major 2023, where Vitality had a flawless run for the title.
But before that, we have another Counter-Strike Major to witness - Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, which will be held from December 1-14 this year.
